History of electricity in Kerman

In April, 1932 the first 75 KW DC generator was installed at the center of the city, where now is called Bargh alley, trough late Abolghasem Harandy’s effort. By installation and setting up the generator, Kerman institution of electricity began the activity. The generator was just able to light up the surrounding area and other parts of the city were deprived of electricity. Then the institution could buy three other 1200 KW form MWM company by pre-selling the electricity. Later on, in 1968 the institution was renamed Regional Electricity Company.
